A local take on PGS

reportage Guy Hall PGSGuy Hall, Technical Manager of PGS in Pau, receives us in his offices on the Hélioparc technical site. Having left Edinburgh for Pau barely three months ago, Guy has a completely fresh take on the town, where he has settled in a large house on the hills, looking out over the Pyrenees. “As soon as I arrived, I was welcomed by the team at Hélioparc and I was able to get down to work the very same day!” A specialist in electro-magnetic methods, Guy Hall is the local representative for PGS – a world leader in geophysical services – in particular in business relations with Total, and he appreciates the advantage of having his main client close at hand when it comes to negotiating new contracts and business ventures. Moreover, the outlook is excellent for PGS which, in line with plans to expand its workforce, recently met researchers from the University of Pau and the students on the Master’s Course in “Geosciences and Petroleum engineering” to open the recruitment drive.

Guy refers back to his new work environment in Pau, stressing that “when you decide to set up in a new location, it’s important to ensure that the local professional environment is buoyant. My office neighbours are INT and ERM-S Seisquare, both part of the Pau Geoscience Club, and proof of the healthy local momentum respect to Geosciences, and that’s reassuring.”
