Engagement letterSince 2007, the Geoscience Club of Pau is undertaking a study project and support hinged on training in the geoscience : GEOSKILL has several goals: Assess professional mid-term and long-term needs in the petroleum upstream, and outline the recruitment problems generated by the lack of interest young candidates show for the industry, as a result of its image, Assess the existing training offers in terms of both initial training and professional training Assess the balance between research needs and industry needs and the proposed training and identify opportunities for development, Identify actions to conduct to take the lead in the area of training and to propose a communication policy around this to Promote initiatives by the actors in training by backing their projects vis-à-vis public authorities, the AVENIA hub and relevant professional organisations.
For this project, the Geoscience Club is backed by Pôle AVENIA, the Regional Council of Aquitaine, the General Council of the Pyrénées Atlantiques, The Pau – Pyrénées Conurbation and the agency Innovalis Aquitaine.
The Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour, the AFTP (Association Française des Techniciens du Pétrole – French association of petroleum technicians), the GEP (oil industry portal) and the French Section of the SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) are also actively backing the project.
